Personally, i like to listen to music while working out, but, i don't turn it up, or if i notice it is bothering other people, ill turn it off. Hopefully one day i can invest in an I-pod or something like that. But do you think music should be allowed in gyms?? lets see some opinions....

For me, lifting while the music is on is a big motivation factor. Then again, it depends on what kind of music is playing too. I have one of those new sony mp3 players that just came out a while back...But i'm not used to lifting and wearing headphones at the same time, so its more of a hassle. I usually use it on the treadmill tho on cardio days.

most of the time, they'd put on the local hip hop/rap/rock music station, which wasn't a whole lot of a motivation for me, because i'm a huge country fan, but i too cannot stand headphones and cords ...

You know for the hell of it....I decided to bring my mp3 player to the gym last wednesday on a chest/biceps day....Let's just say it didn't work out too well. Although, it did get me pretty psyched up for the 1st set. But after the first set, I took it off and put it back in my locker. It was too much of a distraction.

yeah, im afraid the wires hanging down, and the headphones falling off my head would definitely be a distraction to me, music is a good motivation for me, but self motivation from inside is really the only thing that is going to help you,..but again, i do love music in the gym.

I like music playing when I run/workout. Some reason it keeps me going better. I also like country, but I'll listen to pop/hip hop, and know it, so I enjoy it as well!
