What is a good cure for dandruff? It is really odd, I get it very randomly. But when I do, it seems to last a long time. I use head and shoulders conditioner, which seems to work ok. But sometimes when I comb my hair, I still see dandruff. It is also noticeable later on in the day.

I heard apple cider vinegar would help, but didn't want to try it. Anything I can do?

Selsun Blue can help prevent or get rid of dandruff. It helped someone I knew a lot. They used it all the time and got rid of the dandruff almost immediately. I also have a friend that used it and it only made things worse. lol I guess it depends on the person but this is the best way I know.

You can follow hot oil therapy. Mix coconut oil and olive oil in equal proportions and heat it. Message this warm oil in to your scalp and wrap you head with warm towel. Do this once a week and you can find noticeable results.

I use T-gel - it works for me, I use it 3 times a week and leave it on for 7 minutes and then wash it off.

Why do you use two separate shampoos? Which one works better? I am thinking about trying selsun blue, based on the positive review in the above reply. Hope I am not one of the ones that will see a worse condition of it if I use it

I use 2 as t-gel is really expensive - well I think so and if my hair needs a quick wash and I haven't got time to t-gel it which is most of the time - I usually have to be in and out of the shower in 2 minutes - because of my sons - can't be trusted on their own

after awhile, our heads become used to one kind of shampoo, so it's advised that every couple of months you switch kinds of shampoo anyways ... using different ones everyday can give you the same effect to make sure they're working like they should ...

Calamansi extract is good for dandruff. Just squeeze the calamansi fruit in a small container. Then leave right amount on your scalp. Let it stay for at least 15 minutes, or 30 to 60 minutes if you can. Calamansi is also helpful on keeping our hair healthy.

The funny thing is, I started getting this dandruff attack BECAUSE I switched shampoos. Sounds odd, I know, but it is the only explanation. I got the dandruff the day of using the new shampoo. I have noticed this before, about a year before this, that changing a shampoo gave me dandruff.

I'm perplexed as to why. But I'll definately be checking into some dandruff shampoos until it goes away, thanks for the reccomendations.

interesting ... maybe instead of switching shampoos to a dandruff one, find one that's all natural???

maybe try going back to your old shampoo then and seeing if that is the cause ?

I went back to my old shampoo about a month ago, and still see an outbreak of dandruff here and there. It is the garnier fructis brand, which is a very good shampoo. Sounds almost like I got dependant upon it.

Anyhow, some good scrubbing with head and shoulders has been working so far. I am glad too, I was about ready to shave my head
