I don't like to think that my wife would suffer this pain. But I have to face the reality that this would really happen. What can we (husbands) do help them? How can we lessen the pain they would suffer? I really don't have an idea what to do if my wife starts to feel labor pain.

Ok you will be there but there isn't a lot you can do believe me been through it twice and the only way you can help is to rub her back be there when she needs to squeeze your hand and pass ice cubes and stuff to her :) water and just be there for her to talk to.

Apart from that you can feel like a spare part :(

As above the guy can feel pretty useless while in there - I can't comment about the first time around as my husband wasn't there but this time he was and he was great rubbing my back when I had a contraction and everything like that - But I did want to punch him as I had 2 to squeeze out :) be prepared at someone swearing at you a lot :)

My wife is already 8 months pregnant. We are expecting a baby on April. I have mixed feelings towards it. I feel excited o see my first baby and at the same time nervous for the pain my wife is about to feel. Ok, thanks for all you input. I'll do that.

You really can't do anything to lessen the pain your wife feels when she's on labor. All you can do is to be beside her all the time. And you can help her with prayers. Pray for the safety of your wife and your baby.

WOW really soon :) GOOD LUCK :)

As we have said before just be there for her and if she needs anything GET IT FOR HER :) she will swear are you - but she won't mean it

And believe me as soon as she has the little one in her arms she will all most forget everything that has happened to her - well nearly ;)

Thank you for wishing us luck. I am happy, excited and afraid about it, it's a mixed feelings. But that would be really the big day for us. We're going to be a complete family on that day. I can't wait any longer.

I don't think that there is much you can do. When I was in labor with my child, my husband fell asleep. (I was in labor all night.)When he woke up he asked me if I got any sleep. Boy was I mad, I wanted to throw him out the window.

really i highly doubt that there is anything to do from your own, and i think your wife should know about this;
This is natural and a lot of other women goes through this.
Congratulations for your baby.
