I was reading an article awhile back, and it told about an asian man who played a popular game for 3 days straight and died. Is it so unhealthy to go without sleep for so long, or would be happen to be more prone to death from poor health?

I ask, because sometimes I will stay up for two days straight over summer nights just for fun. If it is a possible death situation, I would rather not do it :? . Thoughts?

it's not the healthiest ... it throws off your sleep patterns and your body's natural cycles ... it's really hard to explain ...

i, too, do it, though ... i'm good for going three days and two nights without sleep, and sometimes more ... even without coffee, i get on a natural high ... i'm also good at being able to function with few hours of sleep each night ... as long as i stick as close to normal, for me, of sleeping patterns, i'm good to go ...

some people's bodies are more accepting of no sleep than others ... but it's best not to do it unless you really, REALLY have got to go without sleep ...

I manage to be awake for straight 50 hours. That was during our special project at work. I think my body can tolerate not to sleep for that long. But that was really hard. I just keep on drinking black coffee to keep my eyes open that long.

50 hour work day? Wow, I'm amazed. That is more than the average work week in america. In fact, there might be a law against such a work day here :shock: . Hope you got paid overtime pay for that! Or atleast a bonus. I wonder how late you slept when you finally did get rest?

I would of wanted double time - and then tripple time - even though I love my job I don't think I would of worked 50 hours on the trot :(

Even though when I am in Greece I feel like I am doing 50 hour days :)

i have stayed for two days without sleeping and i am still alive;
The story that you told us even if it is tragic seemed very funny to me; actually i do not think that the lack of sleep was the reason for his death is too stupid.
