Fasting detoxifies the body and speeds up the healing process. But if you plan to fast at work, go short term and have lots of liquids.

Fasting for one day, every three months or so, can do a world of good. It washes out toxins from the body. Ideally, you should fast under your doctor?s supervision. The doctor will take into account your lifestyle and inherited traits before giving you the green signal.

But fasting is not for everyone. Diabetics, in particular, should never fast since it could cause a radical change in insulin levels, and may even lead to a stroke. Rigorous fasting is not recommended when you work, because it could tire you out and decrease productivity. But you could follow this detox diet, provided you drink lots of water.

Excuse me, but how should fasting for one day work ? Is it really possible that the body washes out all the "rubbish" within 24 hours ? I never heard of such a short fasting time. Do i have a gap in education ?

I don?t fast but I will be on only fruit diet on Sundays. Eating only fruits for a whole day also helps in detoxifying body. I keep sipping warm water to which I add a dash of lemon juice and honey. This is good alternative for people who can?t fast for a whole day.

I only fast when I'm sick, which coincidentally, I am right now. The only thing I have managed to put down is a small piece of chicken. I never knew that fasting benefits the healing process. The human body knows more about it than the mind does! :)

I never knew that fasting can be beneficial to our body. I only fast when I am sick. I can't eat because I am not feeling well. Does fasting 1 day for every 3 months really recommended? If you're a skinny person, can you still fast?
