After my first two weeks of beginning to work out, I did something to my shoulders. So, when it comes to Power Presses, or Shoulder Presses, basically anything to lift over my head, I get this sharp pain like a needle that the point is scratching in between my bones. What happens then, my shoulders get that pain and collapse. So, does anybody have any suggestions as to what I should do? Because I cannot do the workouts that I need.

it sounds like it could be a number of things, but i'm not going to provide those potential diagnoses and end up wrong ... here are my suggestions

1. go to your school athletic trainer ... if you have one, they're the first one you should see ... if it IS a medical problem, there should also be insurance forms from the school you can have filled out ... here it's like 25 bucks or so, but it's better than nothing ...

2. ake a call to a physical therapist ... a lot of times they can do an athletic evaluation which costs A LOT less than going to a doctor ... it will give you a diagnosis as well as some treatment to make it better ... you usually will get three of these ... it'll make it a lot better a lot quicker ...

keep me posted on how this turns out for you ...

I don't think it's a major issue. I may have just pulled or sprained something. But, I have been trying to go see somebody, I just don't have a ride and my dad doesn't have the time to take me.

I should just keep taking it a little bit easy for another few weeks or so and see what happens, you know?

a lot of physical therapy places are open past normal working hours ...

i've played the guessing game as far as saying "it's just a sprain" or "it's nothing major" ... and due to a few of those that i thought i could diagnose myself, i've now got bigger problems ... turns out that slight sprain i thought i had in my ankle was actually pulled tendons and ligaments and sprained tendons and ligaments and three broken bones in my foot ...

i hate doctors and people who poke and prod at something that hurts just as much as, if not more, than most people ... but, when it comes to your body, there's not a whole lot that has me convinced that it's not worth it ...

if i were you, i'd do some checking into physical therapy ... i know that the sessons i go to are at like 8pm or so at night, which isn't bad at all ...
