It was already known that honey contained varying levels of antioxidants, with dark honey having more than light. This is the first study to examine honey's effect on human blood.
Drinking four tablespoons of honey mixed into a 16-ounce glass of water improved the antioxidant levels in their blood.

Honey, a natural syrup produced by bees is similar to invert sugar, with a small but variable excess of levulose (fructose). The composition and flavor of honey varies with the plant source of the nectar, processing and storage but a typical composition is 41 per cent fructose, 34 per cent glucose, 18 per cent water, and 2 per cent sucrose with a pH of 3.8 to 4.2.

Honey contains vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, and is a wonderful beauty aid that nourishes the skin and the hair. Honey acts as an antibacterial and antifungal agent and helps disinfect and speed the healing process in wounds, scrapes and burns.
Honey mixed with ground almonds makes an excellent facial cleansing scrub.
Mix 1 tablespoon of honey with a cup of warm water. Use it as a mouthwash. Honey cleans teeth and dentures, and kills germs in the mouth.
So try this easy methods and benefit from honey!!

I haven't had honey in years - drank it with Lemon when I was pregnant with my first son as I had a cold and couldn't take anything else :)

I may try it a couple of times a week ;)

I like to put honey on top of my pancakes. The sweetness it gives is just enough. Good to hear that this is rich in vitamins and minerals. For me honey is a better choice than sugar. So keep on using honey!

The peanut butter with honey already in it is the only kind of peanut butter I eat anymore. I can go through half a loaf of bread and half a jar of the stuff before I calm down my hunger. It's very tasty stuff.

Peter Pan makes it, if anyone is interested. I couldn't find it at walmart but I saw it in a few local grocery stores. I reccomend it if you like peanut butter and want to try something new. It's addicting though :)

Hmmm, I'll keep that in mind.

More on honey...Anybody else a fan of Arizona Green Tea products? I just recently tried the one where they have honey flavor to it. Has a pretty sweet aftertaste.

Honey and butter is my favourite and actually the only way for me to eat some honey. I have no doubts that it have it s benefits, but can some one give me an estimation of how much honey per day is enough for a human organism? I always failed to find a proper estimation.
2 spoons per day ? is it much or less?

lets go in my childhood, there used to come one women from village to sell honey every month to our town, specially at our home. and at that time we used to be small kids and we take one plate of honey for free. she used to love us so much that still i miss her honey. she lives in village, and now i dont know anything abt her. its long that i havent seen her. but i must say, i was boosted by her honey.
