Do you find it hard to get good nutrion, while staying on a thrifty budget? I know college students basically live on ramen noodles to save money, since they are about a quarter each. This isn't too nutritional as it is just noodles and seasoning.

Do you find that to get a fair nutrition, you have to spend more?

honestly, yeh ... that's one of the main factors why this country, and the world, is increasingly becoming obese ... in order to save money, people opt for less nutritious foods ... another important factor is how lazy, yet busy we are becoming ... work and school occupies our times, so we refuse to spend the time to cook nutritional meals, so the cheaper, and quicker, the better ...

Everything is quite high over here in price so it is a nice change when we go back to greece as everything is so cheap - but hopefully all the stuff I did eat before is out the window as of my new life style in food :)

But it is more expensive :(

I don?t understand why people don?t spend money on good nutrition. Everybody has to realize that it costs his or her health. It?s any ways better to spend money on nice food rather then filling doctors pockets later.

people are focused in the here and now ... our generation doesn't care about when they're seventy or eighty ... all that matters is NOW ... all that matters is penny pinching to try to become the next bill gates ... they don't think it through enough to see that by being savvy now, they're going to pay for it in the future ...

I think I would have to spend more because if you what to eat fresh fruits and vegetables you'll have to buy more and they'll cost more than regular junk food.

Fresh fruits and vegetables cost more, and I find that the healthier foods don't fill me up as much, so I have to buy more. So to answer your question, yes, healthier foods cost more - or atleast to me. ;)

Exactly.

Even though it can be pricey at times to live a healthy lifestyle, it is well worth it in the long run.

i find that statement to be WAY inaccurate ... green leafy vegetables alone will not keep you fit and healthy ... in fact, consuming to their mass potential could make you ill ... all diets and food consumption needs to be balanced ... the right amount of fruits AND veggies, carbs/grains, and proteins ... along with some fat ... SOME ... and the right kind, of course ...

I am a college student, but i have my meals at the campus servery . I think that it mighty be very hard to keep a strict diet on vegetables and fruits without having to consume also some junk food. Sometimes is much more time consuming and perhaps more expensive to eat healthier.
