Let us talk about what are energy bars and how to chose an energy bar?
The word 'energy' on any label simply means that the food supplies calories, not that eating it will make you more energetic. I mostly stick to eating healthy, whole foods like fruits and vegetables. Because natural foods contain the good stuff not added to most bars.

Energy Bars:
Developed in the '80s for people engaged in high-endurance activities such as hiking or sports involving running, energy bars usually have a mix of simple and complex carbohydrates. Some have moderate fat levels, while others contain quite a bit of fat. Many are vitamin- and mineral-enhanced, but those levels can vary widely between brands.

Nutrition bars
The line is fuzzy between energy bars and nutrition bars, but often nutrition bars have a bit less sugar and a little more vitamin enhancement. They can be used for meal replacements, but it?s important to also incorporate fresh fruits and vegetables into meal planning.

Meal replacement bars
The name is self-explanatory. These are designed to replace a meal so they contain a meal?s worth of calories. However, they?re easily digested so it?s a good idea to pair them with a piece of fruit so you?re not ravenous before the next meal.

I am not in to the bars as they never fill me up I wish they did but they don't I would rather have a soup and a roll or something and then a piece of fruit to fill that hole :)

Meal bars taste good, but hardly fill you up. Even when paired with fruit.

Energy bars I don't invest in, simply because you can get cheaper energy boosts elsewhere, rather than a $2 candy bar. (Energy drinks do a great job for about half that)

Nutrition bars I haven't tried, and probably won't need to.

Most people who are into weightloss likes to eat energy bars thinking this contribute to their weightloss. But I think this is not true. If you're trying to lose weight, energy bars is one way for it. Energy bars are full with calories and carbohydrates.

Granola Bars
Recipe courtesy Alton Brown, 2005
Show: Good Eats
Episode: Power Trip
8 ounces old-fashioned rolled oats, approximately 2 cups
1 1/2 ounces raw sunflower seeds, approximately 1/2 cup
3 ounces sliced almonds, approximately 1 cup
1 1/2 ounces wheat germ, approximately 1/2 cup
6 ounces honey, approximately 1/2 cup
1 3/4 ounces dark brown sugar, approximately 1/4 cup packed
1-ounce unsalted butter, plus extra for pan
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
6 1/2 ounces chopped dried fruit, any combination of apricots, cherries or blueberries

Butter a 9 by 9-inch glass baking dish and set aside. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Spread the oats, sunflower seeds, almonds, and wheat germ onto a half-sheet pan. Place in the oven and toast for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

In the meantime, combine the honey, brown sugar, butter, extract and salt in a medium saucepan and place over medium heat. Cook until the brown sugar has completely dissolved.

Once the oat mixture is done, remove it from the oven and reduce the heat to 300 degrees F. Immediately add the oat mixture to the liquid mixture, add the dried fruit, and stir to combine. Turn mixture out into the prepared baking dish and press down, evenly distributing the mixture in the dish and place in the oven to bake for 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely. Cut into squares and store in an airtight container for up to a week.

So, I got some nutrition bars. I went for the ZONE PERFECT chocolate caramel cluster. I was reading the nutrition label, and it has 6 grams of protein. The bar itself is snack size, and barely as big as my pinky. How do they get so much protein in one bar, while still claiming to be all natural?

Kind of impressive I thought.
