An advertisement on TV says that folic acid is essential for the health of pregnant women. My wife is pregnant. I want her to get the right nutrition and this folic acid. Is there any food that is rich in folic acid, or this is just available on vitamins, supplements and drink milk for pregnant?

I hope she is taking her 1 tablet a day which you should be taking from the day you find out you are pregnant - on if you have been trying a while then since the day you have been trying.

Here is something that I found on the internet

Enriched Breads and Grains

Breads and grains contain added folic acid.
Serving size is 1 piece.

I like the inclusion of fast food sources, very nice touch. Is folic acid only good for the pregnant? I wouldn't mind eating the things off fast food menus when I have too, if I know that folic acid foods are good for you.

Helps with the decision to buy something that isn't very nutritious if you know atleast something is going to benefit you...

I always make sure she takes a tablet every day, she often forgets. To cmickieuk, thanks a lot for the list you have provided. I never thought that fast foods also served foods that are rich in folic acid. Good thing my wife loves to eat taco and burger.

I sent it to my sister in law and she gave it to my brother and said ha ha ha I am allowed to eat something from mcdonalds once in a while :)

She had craving for egg and from Mcdonalds but she never eats them and my brother said no she couldn't have it because of it being bad for you - but she showed him the list and he backed down :)
