I have a daughter who just turned 1 year old. I want her be intelligent. What foods are good for the brain? Aside from her milk supplement that has Taurine, which is good for enhancing brain memory, what other vitamins are essential for memory enhancing?

there is a lot of discrepancy over which minerals enhance what, especially in youngsters ... obviously, i'd suggest a well-rounded, balanced meals as she gets older ...

don't think that teaching comes only at school from teachers ... somehow, and i still have yet to figure this out, my mother made it fun for me to learn colors and the alphabet and shapes and all that stuff they teach you in kindergarten ... knowing a second language also helps in so many aspects, so if you or someone you know does speak a language, encourage them to speak around your daughter ... it's VERY hard to pick up on a second language after a youthful age, and i'm struggling with that now ... there are studies that suggest that the brain's cap for SOLID learning cuts off somewhere around 12 or so ... encourage her to try EVERYTHING: dance, fishing, cards, chess, basketball, piano, other instruments, EVERYTHING ... she'll come to the conclusions of what she likes, but like for me, my mom pushed me into only what she liked or wanted to have done, but couldn't do, when she was little, which left me a little in left field with some of the things i've found i actually like now, with no prior experience ...

Thank you so much for the reply Montana? I certainly agree to what you say. Thank you so much for your suggestions. I will see to it that there will always be a follow up on her school lessons at home. I never knew that learning second language is hard after a youthful age. I will teach her second language as soon as possible. Thanks again.

i have heard that fish helps the brain of the young people, not sure though; my mom told me when i was a kid and now i am still remembering this. So you could try to include in her diet, along with other things some fish; it contains phosphorus as i remember.

there's nothing wrong with meat or fish at young ages ... look at baby food ... they sell pureed meats and such ... before you guys keep commenting, make sure you know what you're talking about before you post, just to post ...

it's a lean protein with good amino acids in it ... the right kind of lean fats ... fish oil is a healthy oil for consumption rather than fars from animal or even grains like canola or olive oil ...
