I love pancakes. I like the cookies and cream pancake. Aside from its delicious taste what nutrients can we get from eating it? Is it good to let kids eat pancakes 3 times a week?

I think that blueberry is a classic when concerning pancakes. Chocolate chips are amazing in pancakes as well, but I grow tired of those faster than blueberry pancakes.

Regular syrup is kind of gross, I prefer the flavored kinds such as blueberry or strawberry. Whipped cream goes nicely on them too.

i used to eat them a lot as a kid ... my mom would usually make them with whole wheat and homemade applesauce in place of some of the liquid ... they were, and still are, the best pancakes, to me ... instead of for breakfast, we'd usually have "breakfast for dinner" which would consist of pancakes or waffles, bacon or sausage, and eggs or toast ... all healthy, but with a little bit of extra oil and grease, but i turned out alright ... i still cook the same meal for myself from time to time ...

I remember that when I came over to the states, your pancakes are quite thick aren't they ?

Ours are thin and that we can wrap them up and then ooohhhh yummy :)

You put ice cream on a pancake? I'm a pancake fanatic but I never heard somebody eating it with ice cream on it. This is the first time. I might try that one of these days. By the way, anybody who knows what nutrients we can get from pancakes? Nobody has answered my question regarding this.

mine are definitely fluffy and at minimum 1/2 inch thick ... lol ... i love 'em ...

as far as nutrition, you're going to get carbs, and for me, i mix 50/50 white flour and wheat flour ... when you use wheat flour, though, make sure you add a little extra liquid to compensate ... if you add fruit or something like applesauce (mine's homemade and canned with no added sugars), then you will also get that ... i use the fruit for part of the liquid, and do they ever taste yummy ...

i think you will get some carbohydrates apart for the original ,unique and perfect taste. I eat pancakes 5 times, per week , almost all of them with chocolate. It gives me a lot of energy and are quite easy to prepare, if you have the tools, - in fact just a special pan.
