The jury is definitely in on this verdict. Ever since 1960 when the Surgeon General announced that smoking was harmful to your health, Americans have been reducing their use of tobacco products that kill. Just recently, we've seen a surge in smoking in adolescents and teens. Could it be the Hollywood influence? It seems the stars in every movie of late smoke cigarettes. Beware. Warn your children of the false romance or 'tough guy' stance of Hollywood smokers. Thought for the day: Give up just one cigarette?. the next one.!!

I think that aside from the influenced of Hollywood, one of the greatest influenced why our kids smoked is their friends. Due to peer pressure they may be forced to try it. Until they become addicted to it. Every kid wants to fit in a certain group. I think we should just guide our children on this. Another problem is when someone in the family is addicted in smoking.

i think it's true for any juvenile generation, that they go through the "rebelious" stage or the "experimental" stage, especially when they reach the certain legal ages, they WANT to try it ... i know that in highschool, a lot of people tried smoking last year and the year before ... and now there's a bunch of seniors who want to QUIT smoking ... honestly, some people it's better to make poor mistakes and learn from them, and i think this, sadly, is one of those cases ... i've been around smoking my whole life ... i've seen people with lung cancer ... i've seen people who resemble the Marlboro Man ... the Marlboro Man came from Montana for goodness sakes ... but i'm allergic to it, it causes my airways to become inflamed, causing me to pass out ... if you thought asthma was bad, think again ...

I think just about everyone tries it, the lucky ones don't get addicted. (I was one of the lucky ones) If you realize that you don't need it enough, you won't crave it. I knew that I could spend money on things better than cigarettes, which was the main factor in me deciding right out that I didn't need it.

That, and I never really had an addiction.

I don't know if I'd say the jury is completely in. There are health risks to smoking yes. There are health risks to a lot of things. It's about being allowed to choose your own risks. I'm worried that they're going to try to make cigarettes illegal. That would just be going to far.

i have never smoked and i will never do it; it is very important to get your child understand that smoking in not beneficial even if it si very hard, seeing the movie industry that promotes super stars smoking all day long.
Perhaps we should put our children see again old movies .

I dont smoke either, and dont plan on it anytime soon. There's really no benefit in conjunction with lifting. Just a waste of money imo, and there's no point in doing it.

It has no sense "tobacco is good for health".What a big lie this is.Some companies promoting their company by that way.Dont believe them. They also target poor countries like asian countries or some middle east countries.

I do not think that there is anyone who doesn't know that tobacco is bad for health, and i have never heard of any company claiming that tobacco is good for health, this is surely an aberration. Actually as i remember they are supposed to write on every cigarette pack that smoking has bad effects on human body or something like that, aren't they?
