it's a machine with trays with holes in them ... and there's a fan that pulls the air through the trays which sucks all the moisture out of your products ... you can dehydrate your own fruits, veggies (then throw them in the stew pot and KABLAM ... veggies!), you can make your own fruit leathers, it works wonders for pastas ... it's a great machine ...

honestly, all i have to do is grab a couple bundles of bananas, slice them, then lightly salt them, flip, lightly salt them, place them on the trays, stack the trays, and plug in my dehydrator overnight ... it doesn't take any more time than it does to bake a batch of cookies ...

my favorite is dehydrated apples ... every couple of years we get a good crop on our tree and i'll take 'em down, skin them, core them, and slice them, and stick them in the dehydrator ... because of the high amounts of sugar in them, it's more like the sticky, chewy dried fruits from the store, but homemade ... for some reason, it's hard to buy dehydrated apples, so i make my own ...

but i love automobiles ... if i'm not cooking, then i'm out in the driveway or garage tearing something apart and rebuilding it ... i've loved mechanics far longer than cooking, lol ...

i'm not exactly sure what i'm aiming for ... when i was little, i swore i wanted to be either a NASCAR driver or a NASCAR mechanic ...

but my interests are also very strong in business and journalism ...

ideally, i think it would be great to own my own auto restoration business someday ... if i got hooked up with the right magazine, they would give me parts to put on rigs and test out, as long as i write reviews and stuff on them ... that would also be a great thing to do on the side, but honestly, i'm just waiting to hear about scholarships from schools right now ...

I love racing I used to work on a racing kart magazine and it was a good laugh. I loved magazine work as it was always a good laugh but since my children it is hard to get back into :( tough market over here

I am not very good with cars I can do the basics but that is far as I go :)

oh the car thing - my brother is a mechanic - well he was and had his own garage, but the garage had to close as they opened a large chain of garage.

I hope your wish of magazines comes true :)

bananas are not my favourite fruits and more over drying and crunching them makes them less pleasant i think.
Why don t you try to eat them in the raw form? i am sure they contain more vitamins and are more healthy in this way, and also there are huge chances of being more tasteful.
