Protein should be a big part of your diet. To find out how much protein you need in a day, here?s a little math. For every 20 pounds of body weight you need eight grams. Now go figure.

no, you need to RE-figure ... it's not that simple ... for years, the basic suggestion has been that about 30% of one's diet should be protein ... 60% should be carbs/fruits/veggies ... and less than 10% should be fats oils, etc. ... now, this is also a poor representation ...

the amount of protein one should consume also depends on their muscle-building goals ... to trim up and have lean muscle, following a regularly balanced diet is fine ... for those wishing to build muscle, more protein is necessary ...

by basing how much of one dietary requirement one should consume on something as wishy-washy as body mass, it's extravagantly retarded ... there are many other factors such as age, height, health, exercise goals, as well as health problems that factor into the equation ... it's NOT that simple ...

once again, i refer you, star, to PLEASE READ HERE BEFORE POSTING ...

I second Montana, your calculation should be adjusted.
i have the same number of kilograms like my friend, who is a professional sportive; now do you think we need the same number of proteins? Me staying in front of my laptop, he running all the day long?

Protein is Crucial for building muscles. If you are a body builder and want to gain size you have to take protein supplements. If you dont want to increase your weight while you are building your muscles you have to take it by natural way = food.
