I couldn't help but notice, as I was attending class with others from different schools at a local Vocational school, that lots of them were wrestlers.

The interesting thing is, lots of them had diseases such as ringworm that are spread on the wrestling floor. One even had a flesh eating virus on his hand, although it is kept in check through medication and not transmittable now.

My question is, is disease a common threat to wrestlers? I never watched wrestlers on TV and wondered which ones were infected :?

In the state of Minnesota where I live this year there was something about an entire wrestling team that got Herpes and then there was like an 8 day wrestling ban where they couldn't do real practice and they could only shadow wrestle and run, at least thats why my friend who is wrestling told me they had to do.

I am a Wrestler myself, I have only seen 2 I solated cases of ringworm. The only way I can see this being a problem is if the Mat itself is not being properly disinfected on a regular basis
