Swimming is one of the sports loved by kids. What is the right age to teach them? I have seen an advertisement that even 9 months old babies are being taught how to swim. Is this safe?

You should join up to a mother and baby or toddler group.

Me and My son go and he is 3 we have been going for a year now - but he did go into the water a few other times before he was 3.

He loves it he can swim with a float and armbands he is getting pretty good at it now :) start them young

The only thing I have heard is that you shouldn't take them swimming until they have had the jabs - so not before 4 months - which is fair enough.

I guess that 3 years should be a minimum. I do not have " evidence " to back up this, but i think that earlier it is not safe;
About getting a 9 months old child to swim, even with an instructor seems outrageous to me. Do you think that the baby enjoys it?

how would you know if you don't let 'em try ... you give a baby food, and you find out whether or not they like it ... you give 'em a toy, and they'll let you know ... you get them into swimming, you'll know too ... 9 months old or 3 month old, you can stil tell whether or not they enjoy something ...

many say that enrolling babies in like a "water" class is a good transition into the "REAL" world ... as water mimics their confort level found within their mother's womb ...

I was 6 or 7 years old when i learned swimming.I can only tell you that younger is always better.I think when we are young we can learn things easier.
