Skipping is good for athletes that relies on speed and agility. By doing this thousands of times everyday, the athlete will develop quick reflexes in critical situations.

You know, they always used to make us skip rope in gym class. I always thought it was the most pointless exercise, but you're right...it definitely could help reflexes...that was something I don't think I really considered.

oh yeh, double dutch was fun ... we had a metal pole with four attachers on it for ropes ... so only one person would have to spin the rope while a friend could jump ...

in gym class, we'd have jump rope sections in elementary school, it was fun ...

I used to love playing double dutch as a kid, we used to sing alone a song while skipping don?t remember it :(
Recently I bought one it has a electronic meter which counts your skips. Can I jog and do skipping? Instead of my regular cardio on thread mill and cycling?

i have never loved this exercise and still find it useless; what is the pointing of doing thousands of skipping ropes when you can use that time for doing something more useful?

it's a low-impact cardio exercise ... as you know from workouts, cardio is important for your heart's health ... with little risk, it raises your heart rate which keeps your heart healthy ...

Skipping is one of the very best exercise that an individual gives to his/her own body. It's very good for our health since it improves our immune system.
