Hi

Im looking to start training and working out again after a long lay-off from it. What would you recommend are good excercises/activities to start off with to ease me back into things gently?

i'll suggest a good and fairly substantial amount of stretching to start out with ... not only will it make exercising easier, it'll help prevent aches and pains from starting up again ... if you have access to some simple yoga moves, as "sissie" as they may seem, the constant stretching motion is actually kind of fun, and seems to work a lot better for me than a lot of just the standard stretches ... stretch ... rest ... stretch again ... move ... stretch ... rest ... the fluidity of yoga is really really nice ...

to suggest any exercises or activities, i guess we'd have to know how long it's been since you were active, what sorts of things you used to enjoy, etc ...

Hi medw,

what are your goals ? What do you want to achieve ? What kind of sports have you done before and is there any sport you would like to try now ?
Maybe we'll find some good ideas.

maybe you should visit the exercise section of the forum if you are just looking for something general;
If you are planning to start to practice for a certain sport , tell us the sport that you aim for so that we can give you some specific tips.
