I want to start running again. This is how people train for soccer, football, etc. so how are runners supposed to train? Jog? Power walk? I want to run but I don't know how to train. All I know is that I have to train, so says my coach.

You're right allie, different types of running for different sports. Most sports definitely require sprinting though. Although endurance is just as important...a good sprinter will catch the eyes of recruiters.

ehh, i beg to differ ... if you can withstand not being winded or tired by the end of the game, hence endurance, that's going to be key not only to your own success but being able to catch the eye of recruiters ... although very few people get scouted for college level sports ... and even fewer get the bid into national athletics ...

the best way to train for running is simply to run; if the soccer players learn by playing soccer i think this must be true also for athletes. Also you can try some bodybuilding, or power lifting, it is no bad if you develop your muscles, running demands a lot of energy and effort after all.
