Your muscles are deteriorating due to CATABOLISM!!! What can you do you ask? Click here to find out how Glutamine can prevent this catabolic process!!!
Glutamine is one of the twenty non-essential amino acids. Let's keep in mind that just because it's an nonessential amino acid, doesn't mean its not important to the body. Non-essential amino acids are just amino acids that the body can produce on it's own. 60% of our glutamine is found within the skeletal muscle.

Even though our bodies are able to produce glutamine on it's own, sometimes our glutamine stores can be depleted due to stress and other factors. That's why it is important to supplement with glutamine.

Glutamine depletion is usually due to body stress. These stresses inlcude any kind of minor to severe medical condition that causes stress to the body. The amount of glutamine depleted depends on the severity of what kind of condition the body is in. Intense exercise can also affect glutamine stores.

Glutamine doesn't make you stronger, bigger, faster, give energy, or any of these. Glutamine's main function is to act as a anti-catabolic. Catabolism is the breaking down of muscles. You heard right. No athlete would want that to happen after a hard days workout. It would be a complete waste.

Cardio and any other aerobic exercise can cause a catabolic effect on your muscles. Your body can sometimes use its own muscle tissue for energy, and this is where supplementation with glutamine can be beneficial. Glutamine prevents muscle breakdown and maintains muscle mass.

In the bodybuilding world, glutamine is a highly recognized supplement. Bodybuilders may find glutamine useful during a cutting phase. A cutting phase is when you try to burn and elminate as much fat as possible without losing muscle mass. Glutamine supplementation can come in handy during these cutting phases. It's anti-catabolic functions make this possible.

Research shows that people may consume 2-40 grams of glutamine daily. The amount varies with the individual. Even though you already consume glutamine through foods such as beans, fish, meat, poultry, and others, its recommended to consume 10-15 grams of glutamine daily.

Glutamine can come both in powder or capsule form. Powder form may be more cheaper than capsule form. Glutamine taken in powder form is tasteless. So, it is easily mixed with any liquid such as water without any bitter taste.

So in short...Glutamine's main function is to act as a anti-catabolic to prevent muscle breakdown. As it was discussed, glutamine can be a very beneficial supplement. So what are you waiting for?!? Get your glutamine today!!!
