Never give honey to infants under one year old, as honey may contain clostridium botulinum spores to which infants have very little resistance. Once ingested, these spores may germinate and release deadly toxins.

In ancient India people used to feed newborn with honey thinking that it cleans their stomach. Though its proven wrong by doctors. Other wise for adults honey is best replacement for sugar.

Honey is good to our health. This is a good substitute for sugar. I never thought this is not good for infants. My sister just turned a year old. We let her taste a bit of honey. She seems to like the taste of it. I thought kids can take honey because it has some anti bacterial properties.
