I am going to be a dad soon. And I'm really excited about it. Right now, we have started buying things for our baby. I am thinking what is the best multivitamins to give her. Any suggestion is appreciated.

i never took supplements as a child ... especially as a newborn ... every nutritional aspect she needs should be coming from her diet ... i refuse to make any suggestions ... my only suggestion is that you express your concerns to a pediatric doctor ... they could point you in a direction specific of your baby's needs, if necessary ...

Is your wife going to be breast feeding?

In the first 8 weeks of breastfeeding your child will get all the vitimns and minerals that he/she will need for that first couple of months - I did it for 8 weeks.

I wouldn't recommend giving them anything but their milk. Unless prescribed by your doctor

I see. I thought right after they were born they are given vitamins already such as ascorbic acid and multivitamins. My wife plans to breastfeed until she gets back to work. I hope she does have enough milk to feed our baby.

The more you feed the more you produce, the hospital will give them shots of something or other, I think it is Vitimn K which they inject to the leg :(

But no you shouldn't need to give him/her anything

Good luck on the breastfeeding

Yep they do them as soon as they are born and then all the vitamins come from Breast feeding but if for some reason she can not do it then tell her not worry about some women can't do it and some that can - I had to go to bottle as I wasn't producing enough it hasn't done my little one any harm at all

Oh and also bottle milk isn't all bad they wouldn't sell it if it wasn't good for the baby.

it isn't ALL that bad, but it ends up costing more, and if you physically are able to produce milk, it'll save you money ... you also create a bond with your baby in doing so ... i know that being a twin, we had both bottled milk and were breast fed ... apparently we were way too hungry for my petite mother ...

It is cheaper to breastfeed a baby - but breast milk goes through a baby a lot faster than bottle milk because it is more wateryand you are feeding more all the time it feels like at first. But then you are using more nappies with a breast fed baby - as it is going through them faster :)
