A new study suggests that you expend about 11 calories per hour by chewing gum (which could equal a weight loss of 10 pounds if you chew gum during walking hours every day for a year). Just see how making small changes in your life can have a significant effect on your weight! And the next time your mom tells you to spit that gum out, you know what to say, don't you?

I chew gum all the time as I just have to have something in my mouth - and well it helps me keep my mind off of food :)

but you also have to look into how many calories are in your gum of choice, too ... and if you swap out your gum every hour, are you really getting any benefits???

I never chew gum to lose weight I just need something to chew as I will go for something with a lot more calories :)

I chew gum all the time and it makes my stomach growl but it makes me feel full at the same time.
I chew gum often just so I won't have food on my mind[or cigarettes] and it helps me lose some weight.

I am a gum person - I am always chewing :)


I used to be a smoker as well so I did it for that really - it was the only thing that helped me quit - but it has become habit now :)
