The first and fore most thing one has to follow in order to portion control is never buy large packs of food or big size fruits. Because food lover can?t control when they see large portions of food, so if you wont stock food you will automatically eat less.

Very true. This is why my family doesn't at Sam's Club or Costco. lol Another good way is to just not go back for seconds. A lot of people are guilty of that and it's a hard habit to break but it's crucial with portion control.

I can't afford to not buy in bulk ... oftentimes, it's still cheaper to buy in bulk and repackage into more manageable sizes at home ...

Yah but the fact is that they're still there which is the problem in buying your food in bulk. You can repackage them into the smallest portions if you want but what's to stop you from going eating it?

store the foods ... freeze the foods ... i don't go grocery shopping everyday to control portions ... with 45 miles to the nearest/cheapest grocery retailer, i don't think so ...

Buying food in bulk is definitely cheaper. But portion size may very well be the single most important thing in dieting. I've actually seen studies being done on whether or not big companies are "forcing" people to eat more, thereby causing the so-called obesity problem.

If I had the space then I would buy in bulk :) but it is hard to find the space to put anything that I buy in bulk - I don't have a big place so it is hard to store !!!
