I know that pregnant women usually gain a lot weight. They have difficulty losing the pounds they gained when they were pregnant. Any tips you can give me about weight loss program good for new moms? I know my wife will need this in the near future.

Women who have just given birth usually have a fat stomach. You can buy a waist belt for your wife. While she cannot exercise yet, this will be a great help to her. After a few weeks, you can start to do brisk walking, let her wear a girdle while walking. This helps in burning fats.

If I knew how to do that I would be very rich it is really hard work for some women - they like me are finding it very hard to lose the last of the bulge

I wouldn't like to wear a belt soon after having birth - (where did you hear about this ?) your body takes a while to contract back down to size one way to help you get back to size is breast feeding -I just wish I had the body of a supermodel and didn't have to work that hard to get back into shape I would bottle it and sell it :(

And she can exercise - if she has had a c-section she has to do things gently with the approved exercises from the hospital to help you along - but if you had had the baby natually you can sta getting back in to shape quicker

Is your wife usually thin ? or is she on the bigger size ?

If she is thin and she has been careful then she shouldn't really have much problems into snapping back into shape (like my sister in law) but me I don't think would be so lucky - ladies who have lost weight don't tend to snap back - and I don't think I will be as lucky as my sister in law

She really used to be a skinny woman. Now that she's pregnant, she had gained a lot. But if I will be asked, I like her to really gain some weight. But I know, she is not used to it. She would want to get her figure back.

Tell her not to rush into it - breast feeding will help with the weight loss - I piled on the weight when I was pregnant - I was full up with water and an 8lb 10oz baby :) but lost a lot of water through breast feeding but tell her she must eat if she is going to try and breast feed other wise the milk will dry up and she will be come very ill and tired ..

I would go with the advice above - I breast fed but you have to remember to add an extra 500 calories to your diet a day because you need that to feed the baby and you need to keep your strength up.

Other wise you are no good to any one
